As a special prosecutor, Harkey was appointed to head the prosecution of one of the largest NCAA investigations in history. A five-year investigation culminated in a prosecution involving financial advisors, sports agents, runners, memorabilia dealers, student-athletes, and NFL players. Harkey is one the few attorneys in the United States to have tried a case under the Uniform Athlete Agent Act.
